Pilot Training and Coaching...

How to Get Started

To start paragliding, you must first figure out how much time and money you are willing to commit to the sport. For those who want to keep the budget low but still wish to enjoy the full aerial experience the Tandem Paraglider Flight or the Introductory Short Courses are ideal. If you have already decided that paragliding is for you, then the Complete License Courses available would be more suitable to your needs.
Tandem Paraglider Flights

A scenic tandem flight is a great option for those of you who wish to experience all paragliding has to offer, with no experience in flying at all. A Certified Tandem Pilot will take you up as soon as they have run you through the basic safety procedures. The preparation time for Tandem Flights is less than the Introductory Courses, which means more to fly. They are a great way to experience some of the more thrilling maneuvers such as wingovers and spirals normally taking years of practice to perfect.
Introductory Courses

If you have decided to give paragliding a go but don’t want to commit to the time required to become a fully registered Solo Pilot just yet, Introductory Courses are designed to train you into a safe and practiced pilot in the minimum time possible usually lasting between 1-2 days. In this course, you will cover a range of subjects including:
- An introduction to the sport
- Various safety checks
- Equipment set up
- Ground handling
- Launch/landing Technique and Safety
By the end of the day, you should have hopefully experienced your first Solo Paragliding Flight depending on your ability and the weather conditions on the day of training. If you opted for the Two day training course, the second day will be dedicated to more solo flights and possibly (if the conditions are willing) your first solo high flights. The completion of this course allows you to fly ONLY under the supervision of a certified instructor.
Complete License Courses

For those who have decided to take up the sport, Novice/Restricted Pilot Courses are going to be your best start on the road to becoming a fully-fledged paragliding pilot. Usually lasting anywhere between 5-15 days depending on the school, Novice Courses are designed to give you the skills a safe, confident and competent pilot needs. On top of what is taught in the Introductory Courses, the Novice Class will cover the theory and practices behind:
- Simple flight plans
- Maneuvering
- Attitude and Airmanship
- Glider aerodynamics
- Meteorology
- Thermal flying
- Ridge soaring
- Emergency procedures
Course Graduates gain membership to the governing aerial sport bodies and are fully qualified to fly solo without the supervision of a qualified instructor at most flying sites.
